Cowlick Country is a heart-warming story that celebrates self-acceptance, individuality, and family unity in everyday life.

Each member of the Speckles family has a unique family trait, except the youngest, Sarah Kate. Being different from the rest of her family, she felt left out. An unexpected plot twist resolves this family dilemma. Vibrant illustrations add visual warmth to a text rich with personality and humor. The playful theme and authentic southern setting are perfect for families and educators who enjoy a satisfying read-aloud book.

About the Author

Sherry Turner is a lifelong advocate of stories and learning whose passion for literacy has inspired generations. A graduate of Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a master's in library and information science. She has spent more than 40 years promoting reading and research as a devoted librarian. Her enthusiasm for engaging young minds extended beyond library walls as she performed as a storyteller and creative dramatist at schools, festivals, and on educational television, bringing characters and lessons to life with warmth and imagination. Now retired, Sherry channels her love for storytelling into writing heartwarming tales that celebrate family, tradition, and the simple joys of everyday life. Living in Georgia with her husband, Don, she enjoys baking, tracing her family's genealogy, and spending time with her children and grandchildren-often the inspiration for her work. She would like to hear all about your cowlicks. Contact her at sherryturnerbooks@gmail.com.

About the Illustrator

Adam Jones was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. He always had an eye for detail and a passion for art. Inspired and apprenticed by his grandmother, Carol McCarty, an accomplished artist herself, she nurtured his dream to pursue art from childhood. As a young reader and collector of comic books, Adam admired artists who derived their artistic expressions from their imagination. He vowed to practice and refine his skills so he would be able to create solely from his own mind, committed to originality and never imitation. He continued to excel in art classes and developed more technical skills in additional mediums such as oil paints, pastels, pen and ink, and sculpting. Adam married his wife, Lauren, and they moved to Provo, Utah. There, Adam attended Utah Valley University, studying graphic design. He has been a freelance artist for several years, and his digital art in this book reflects his commitment to creating original and authentic work. Adam and Lauren have two sons, Solace and Merrill, and reside in the Treasure Valley of Idaho in the small town of Star. His family and being a father are what Adam values the most, and he's eager to share his passion for art with his children and future posterity. Contact Adam at akjdesignz@gmail.com.
